Associate Pastor is Reverend Vernice L. Thorn, an Itinerant Elder ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and a licensed professional counselor. Her primary focus in ministry is spiritual formation and confronting racism, sexism, heterosexism, and other forms of oppression. Her passion is building inclusive communities through preaching, teaching, and counseling.

Vernice says of an inclusive and just ministry: “Creating safe space for all God’s people to come and live together, sharing their stories, laughing and crying together is not an option, it is essential. I believe in a loving God; one that creates us all in Her image; one that connects us with Her Spirit and gave us Jesus to teach and model how to love our neighbor, even when that neighbor looks, think, acts, and loves differently. That is the Gospel message I want to live and to share with the world.”
